Is Directwigs a UK company?
Answer: Directwigs is the trading name of Perfection Hair (UK) Ltd, a company registered in England in 1998 and trading from premises in Swindon. This ensures you have full consumer rights.
I have seen a wig elsewhere that is not listed on your website.
Answer: If it is available, we can get it! We are appointed retailers of all the leading brands and can offer any of their items. If there is a particular wig that you would like and cannot see it on our website call our helpful ladies on 01793 507717 between 9.30am and 3.00pm.
How long is delivery?
Answer: UK orders are sent free of charge using the Royal Mail 24 Tracked service on the day we receive the item from our suppliers. We order each wig direct from our suppliers, ensuring every wig supplied by Directwigs is fresh, new stock that is a current style. As a leading supplier of wigs in the UK and Europe we have excellent relationships with our suppliers who provide us with an express service.
What about returns?
Answer: We provide a free returns service using a Royal Mail tracked service. All items returned to us are forwarded to the manufacturer where they are hygienically checked. We do not hold returns in stock and re-sell them.
How long will my wig last?
Answer: It is generally accepted that wigs have a life of 4-6 months unless a longer period is stated by the manufacturer. New technologies are extending the life of some wigs, for example NJ Creations state 12 months for some of their creations.
What if I can buy it cheaper elsewhere?
Answer: If you find a wig advertised (and available) elsewhere in the UK on a like for like basis we will match it or even better it. Clearance or sale items offered by other suppliers are not considered like for like.
Is real hair better than synthetic fibre?
Answer: Recent developments in synthetic technology have led to new fibres providing much improved looks and performance, especially with an increased tolerance of higher temperatures when drying your wig. Of course, nothing compares with the natural silky feel and look of real hair.
How do I clean my wig?
Answer: Add a small amount of shampoo to lukewarm water and swish around for 5-10 minutes, then rinse in clean, lukewarm water. Repeat with conditioner if required. Do not rub or wring out. Do not use excessive heat to dry the wig.
How secure is a wig?
Answer: Adjusters are fitted by the ears and nape which can be tightened or loosened to give an individual fit, so fine for all weathers!
What does Mono and Lace mean?
Answer: Mono is a clean, see through base that looks like natural scalp. Lace is on the front of the piece which provides a natural looking hairline.
Are wigs already styled or must I have it cut and styled?
Answer: Fibre wigs are pre-styled; if it is a mono base you may be able to remove a side parting. Human hair wigs usually require cutting to the desired style. You can add partings, feathering to the sides, adjust the length, add a fringe, etc.
Do you provide credit?
Answer: We have partnered with Klarna who offer our customers a choice of paying 30 days after your order is completed or in three equal payments spread over 3 months, all interest free. Customers can also pay by credit/debit card or PayPal.
